So titled the Koelnische Rundschau, Cologne, Germany’s major news daily, the review of Kirill Gerstein’s concerts recently with the Gurzenich Orchestra. The Koelner Stadt-Anzeiger echoed these sentiments calling Gerstein “exceptional”, “sovereign” and claiming his performance belonged in the “holiest circle of Cologne concert life”.
