Kirill’s BBC Proms performance available online
July 19th, 2012Kirill’s BBC Proms performance on July 18 is now available for streaming on the BBC’s website. Appearing with Finnish conductor Sakari Oramo and the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Kirill performed Rachmaninov’s celebrated second piano concerto.
“Gradually asserting his dominance, he extracted fire and thunder from the first movement, and in the second sent his audience into the ‘Brief Encounter’ dream they had come for,” wrote The Independent.
The concert recording also includes the world premier of composer Fung Lam’s “Endless Forms” and Prokofiev’s masterpiece, Symphony No. 6.
